Welcome to Vadron.com

And welcome to my world. Please feel free to stay awhile. We can never have too many friends.
Each of us has a journey. This is mine. Along the way we make new friends, and experience wonderful adventures. Yes, there are trials. Every sea worth sailing has storms. I've had my share, but in the end, life should be blue skies. It is all how we choose to greet the new day that matters.
So keep the wind to your back, and your face to the sun.

My Story

Perhaps, not so unlike yours, my life has been a road that winds through lofty peaks and shadowed valleys. For now my journey is slowly taking me out of the stormy clouds. I have a wonderful job, that allows me to travel. I have children who are close to my heart. I think of them every day, every hour, each and everyone of them.

Second to my children, I love the out of doors. Hiking, sailing, photography, traveling, fill my days. (Check my Wanderings page to see where I've been). When I am indoors, I am writing, always writing. I find little use in a TV, other than to set a picture of my children on. Currently, I have several books in the works. As I can, I will add stories that I have written to my Short Stories link. I hope you might find time to enjoy them. Many of them come from my personal experiences. Others are just thoughts that I have set free.

In addition to work, I have a sailboat on the Great Salt Lake, and a home in the mountains that I dearly love when I get time to be there. When the skies were dark, I stayed busy to help me forget, then I realized, I didn't want to forget. The fabric of our lives weaves in and out, coming full circle. Do not neglect a single thread no matter how coarse, for it is in binding them together, we find strength. A single thread may seem unimportant, but put them all together and a beautiful tapestry appears.

Books I currently have two books published; "Jacob's Hollow" which took five years of research and writing. I am proud of it.
The next is "The Mimbre Trail". It is the much requested sequel to Jacob's Hollow.
And I have a third book, The Longest Trail, due for release this year. It was more of an exploration of youth and innocence lost.
You can read excerpts on from them on the BOOK link.
I am currently working on five more books.

Short Stories The short stories are a collection of stories and speeches I've given in my travels through the west. Some are true events from my life. "The Journey", about an old wolf and a young coyote, is a story I wrote for someone very special, who never got to read it.
"Wisdom in the Grass", I woke up at 2am one morning when I awoke with the story clear in my mind. I wrote it down, and went back to sleep by 4am.
I hope you enjoy them.

Photos Okay, this is a work in progress. It will get better. Under life's gray skies, I had stopped taking pictures. There was nothing I wanted to remember, but in the last year, the sun is shining through and my shutter is clicking again.
I also have an Angel taking pictures (I really do.) She has redone my photo albums, and warmed my heart.

Wanderings I travel a lot. The map shows where I have been this year. As I can, I will start leaving a Travel Log about the places I've been and the people I've met across America. People are shaped by their community and the land itself. We draw our color from the very soil. Our politics, religion, and our attitudes, give us strength or beat us down, but one thing I have found everywhere I go, is, that people are still basically good. They want to love and be loved. We all just need to get past our fears and our pains.

Thoughts Morning is my best time. I rise when the air is cool, ready to greet the sun. Most mornings I am up before 5am. My thoughts come to me in the twilight of my dreams. I wake with my head full of ideas and wry humor. My page of Early Morning Thoughts are simply a collection of random musings. There is no particular theme or direction, just casting thoughts to the wind.
We are complex and so we often draw boxes around ourselves, trying to understand who we are. Sadly, it limits us. Perhaps we should define our values, but not ourselves. If we build walls, we hide behind them, and defend them. A tree cannot grow in a box.
So I think my thoughts and let others draw conclusions. For me it is the Journey.

Other Pages As I can I will add my art and wisdom, such that it is. This site like me, is always changing, and hopefully getting better. It is a journey to be shared with friends, old and new, and with my children, near and far. I love you all.
